👉 Most people don’t realise this is how therapy works. Ok this might not sound like good news but I promise you it is. Nobody is going to fix your problems or heal your wounds. The reason this is good news is that you are not at the mercy of what happened to you or the people you employ to help you through it. You are very much in the driving seat. You can work with them to create the right conditions for natural healing to take place. When you do that your body and mind will do the rest. But if you expect everything to be better too soon, or you expect healing to mean the total elimination of any scars, then you’ll always feel like there is a problem to be fixed. So take your time and take the lead in doing what is necessary to promote healing. 👉 To anyone who is struggling right now my new book ‘Open When...’ is finally out. 👉 Feeling Overwhelmed? When do you decide to start looking after yourself? When it feels like you are bursting at the seams with stress? Or a little way before that? Experiencing stress is not anything that is wrong with you. It is information. A sign that you need to replenish before you move on to the next challenge. But replenishment doesn’t mean you have to take two weeks in an overpriced retreat. Smaller changes that are consistent in your daily life will have a much longer-lasting impact. 👉 If you find yourself overwhelmed there is a chapter devoted to this in my new book, Open When. (link in bio) The chapter is called ‘Open When… you feel overwhelmed’ It includes a personal letter from me, talking you through the moment to help find calm and clarity, as well as some real time tools that you can use whenever these moments arise. It was an instant No.1 Sunday Times Bestseller. Available for limited time with up to -48%. 🔥 The last one most people notice first. That’s because we often move straight from a painful emotion into doing something to numb it and get some relief from it. You don’t think consciously about feeling overwhelmed with stress - you just notice that you are putting off all the jobs that used to come easy, and avoiding even the things you once enjoyed. None of this is a fault or weakness. Stress is information. When you are willing to look at that information with curiosity, it can tell you what you need. 👉 If you find yourself overwhelmed with stress at times, there is a chapter devoted to this in my new book, Open When. (link in bio) The chapter is called ‘Open When… you feel overwhelmed’ It includes a personal letter from me, talking you through the moment to help find calm and clarity, as well as some real time tools that you can use whenever these moments arise. 👉 The second one on the list is the most crucial for building your social confidence. Here’s why: If feeling the discomfort of awkward moments is something you are not willing to accept and tolerate, then all of the choices you make will be dictated by the need to avoid those feelings. As a result, all the actions that would build social confidence (like spending as much time with people as possible) become out of bounds to you. And the more you avoid those uncomfortable but rewarding experiences, the more your social world shrinks and social anxiety grows. To begin to tackle that fear of socially awkward moments, you first need a clear way through those feelings. I talk you through how to do this in my new book, Open When. 👉 My new book ‘Open When...’ is finally out worldwide it is a Sunday times and New York Times bestseller (discount links in bio) Also check out my million copy bestselling 1st book ‘Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before?’ Both are available across the world in over 40 languages.

High sensitivity: The recognition that some people experience more sensitivity than others is based on the research by psychotherapist Elaine Aaron. But it is crucial to point out that this is not a clinical diagnosis. It is not a disorder that needs changing. You are not flawed in any way. But it’s common for highly sensitive individuals to feel that way, because people vary greatly in how much their nervous system is aroused in the same situation. Sensitivity can have a positive impact on your life as well as negative. Here’s a few examples below: You are likely to be highly conscientious and able to concentrate deeply. You might be especially good at tasks that demand accuracy and speed and detection of error. You are more likely to be able to process material at a much deeper level. You might benefit from an ability to reflect on your own thinking and experience and developing self-awareness. 🎥 - For more there is a seven minute video on my YouTube channel that I made a few years ago. ‘Open When...’ is finally out (link in bio) Also check out my million copy bestselling 1st book ‘Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before?’ Both are available across the world in over 35 languages.
👉 Don’t make this mistake! This is such a key learning that has made a huge difference in my own life. I love being inspired and energised by big, new ideas and, in the past, would throw myself into a new project with such enthusiasm that other things would get left behind. But, I now realise that putting so much into those projects was often what made them unsustainable. Especially as my life developed and my responsibilities grew. There are aspects of my life that cannot wait. This means that new, exciting goals must be crafted with that in mind. They must fit into what I know already matters to me. I would love to know if you have found the same thing as you have matured and built a life of responsibilities. Tell me in the comments what you think and I will read them all. Thanks again to all of you who have helped my new book, Open When become both a New York Times Bestseller and a Sunday Times Bestseller. I have been reading all your kind and generous reviews on Amazon. It fills me with such deep appreciation for every one of you. If you haven’t seen it and would like to check it out, the link is in my bio. 😁
#ad #ad How do you get it to stop spinning? Here’s a few things you can do to help still the mind so that you can get a full night of sleep: 1. Keep a worry list, a pen and paper by your bed. When you catch yourself worrying about something at night, write it down. That list becomes a promise to yourself that you will make time to tackle those worries productively tomorrow, in the light of day. This way, you don’t feel that you have to hold them in mind to remember what you need to do. 2. Keep bringing the focus of your attention back to the present moment. Worry thoughts are all based in the future that isn’t here yet and ruminations are all about the past. To still the mind, we need to notice when the mind has drifted to the past or future and gently guide our attention back to the here and now. This is not easy to do when you have things to worry about. And let’s face it, who can even remember to meditate at the end of the day? You might not realise this but if you have a Samsung device you have access to Mindfulness tracker which helps make setting health habits simple. This will remind you when to meditate, check your mood and offer recommendations for guided meditations. 3. Breath work is another effective way to bring the body to a state of calm after a stressful day. But this is another practise that benefits from guidance to help you time each breath. Breathing exercises are also available on the Mindfulness feature on your Samsung Galaxy phone, so definitely check it out - it’s yours for free! #SamsungPartner #SamsungHealth
