I loved the characters. Archie ?!? You all know how I feel about blonde MMC’s…they just do not do it for me…there are VERY VERY FEW exceptions to this…and Archie absolutely is part of that exception. He was such a filthy mouthed green flag that I forgot he was blonde…and I didn’t even care. He was perfection 🥰🥰 Emma is our FMC…working hard in college towards becoming a doctor and fully invested in her golfing…she’s focused on her goals and will let nothing get in her way. Emma is sweet but guarded. Loss early on in life and a family history of health issues has carved the path for who she wants to be but has also made her extremely cautious. Archie is our golden retriever MMC. Tall, built like a dream, the man is a literal walking green flag….hes a star football player on his college team and well on his way to the NFL after graduation. But he’s also a playboy…he loves the ladies and the ladies love him. One night out at the college bar changes things for both Emma and Charlie. They meet and there is instant chemistry. One night of passion is all it takes for Archie to fall….for him to realise that he wants more than just one night. Emma feels it’s too but she’s not willing to give him more than a night. She’s too focused on her future and needs no distractions. Especially someone like Archie. For weeks Archie searches for Emma…realising that he wants her and needs to tell her how he feels. Emma is definitely avoiding him…but, after a few weeks and two pink lines later. Emma realises she needs to find Archie and tell him what is happening. The way Archie handles this news is beyond perfection. He’s so supportive and so happy. He is having a baby with the girl of his dreams. Watching their relationship develop was beautiful. The way he cared and supported Emma through all her fears and apprehension with the pregnancy was so amazing. He never let her feel like she was alone. Reminding her that they are a team. My one thing that kept this from being a 5 star read was Emma. I loved her. Love love loved her. BUT…I wish she was more supportive of Archie. This man was all in for her…wanted to shout it from the rooftops. But it felt like she wanted to keep him secret. Not wanting him to tell his friends about her. Never going to his games except for one. I know she loved him and had her issues that she was trying to work through…trying to process how life was changing. But I just wanted to see her put as much effort into him as he was putting into her. Either way, I still loved them as individuals and definitely as a couple. She is one of my absolute FAVOURITE Mafia Romance authors. No one writes dangerously filthy Mafia men quite like she does. I loved this book. I loved the premise, the tropes…what I didn’t love…the FMC. She was quite possibly the most insufferable character I’ve ever had to read. Any stars lost on this review are all due to her because what the actual f is wrong with this woman. 😩 Vincent is our MMC and yes…you should probably dislike him for the first page but I didn’t 😂 I also run towards red flags like it’s my job so I’m not a great judge of character. He’s a big boss in the business world and the Bratva. He’s also a man-wh@re….no way around it. His guilty pleasure is defiling virgins and has made it through the majority of the females at his company like it’s his second job. Maybe it is? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I dunno. Good for him I guess ? 😂 honestly…if I was a hot mob boss I’d probably be a playboy too. Why not. Live life to the fullest. Rowan…even her name makes me want to scream. Our innocent, virginal 27 year old FMC. She’s been working at the company for 5 years and in love with Vincent for just as long. Silently sitting by and pining for him like a desperate school girl. She’s too busy to have any sort of life. Working hard to care for her sick mother. Things get kind of messy when she goes to deliver some papers to Vincent and catches him mid hump sesh with his secretary. He winks at her as his secretary moans under him…she scurries off to her desk, wondering “why not me” 😩😂 it’s a mess. After Vincent sends his used up secretary to another position…he doesn’t believe in going more than once with anyone…he decides that Rowan is the perfect replacement. Rowan is shocked…she’s sure she’s getting fired…instead she’s getting a promotion. Boy is she ever. There are a lot of secrets swirling around these two. Vincent actually has been spying on her for years. And Rowans family has dangerous ties to Vincent’s. Vincent shows up to Rowans apartment and lets her know that he knows about her financial situation. He wants her. Not for a quick 🥵 but as his wife. He needs to be married in order to inherit the company fully and become Pakhan. Rowan knows what Vincent’s true affiliations are and she’s ok with it…she lets him take her virginity with a random expired condom that’s just laying around her house…weird for a 27 year old virgin to just have but I digress. But let’s all use our brains and figure out what happens now…… 🤰🏻🥲 She’s pregnant. Yippee! No? We aren’t excited? Just me? Ok fine. Look. She’s pregnant. She doesn’t want to tell him but let’s be honest. He’s going to figure it out. And he does. Now…this is when the story starts to take the most annoying turn. And it’s all because of Rowan. I don’t know if she’s being intentionally stupid or if her brain cells fell out when Vincent was on top of her but holy crap…she acts like she doesn’t know he’s a BAD MAN. GIRL! Be so fucking for real. You knew. You’ve known for five years. You wanted him. You have him. Now stop crying. Literally. Stop. Crying. All this girl does is cry. Whine. Complain. She refuses protection even though there are literally people trying to unalive her 🤡 what?!? You wanted this life. You have it. Now you don’t want it ???? You want him to change?? CHANGE?!?!? Please. I can’t. I cannot. She’s back and forth. Wishy washy 24/7. Annoying. Entitled for someone with nothing. By far one of my favorite reads of hers. If you enjoy reading about a couple that finds their way to each other while navigating the complexities of an unexpected pregnancy, then this book is absolutely for you. Get ready to fall on love wig the sweetest and sexiest man ever. If you have baby fever, this one is definitely going to make your ovaries scream. Just saying. Kit…the man that you are. If you read the previous book in the series then you know that Kit is the younger brother of Lili. At first glance, you would think…cocky little rich boy. But Kit is way more than that. He’s hard working and kind…and is doing everything he can to make a name for himself by earning it. But one thing that is an absolute certainty for Kit? He’s always had a huge crush on his big sisters best friend, Collins. Collins…our head strong, take no garbage from anyone especially a man, FMC. I love her. When she first meets Kit she is unimpressed and unbothered. Slight blow to Kits ego…but they end up in each others orbit quite often because of Lili. One night and a few too many aperol spritz later…Collins is in Kits hotel room and he’s not quite looking like the annoying younger brother of her best friend anymore. Even though the night was hot, fun…Collins isn’t interested in a relationship and they part with no contact. That is until Lili helps pull some strings to get Collins a much needed job as Kits assistant. Collins is nothing if not professional…she’s ready to fall into her job with no mention of their night of passion…only there is one problem…that pesky period hasn’t shown up. And when that pregnancy test reads “pregnant” Collins realises she’s not only having a billionaires baby…but her boss’. Whoopsie! 🤭 Was Kit shocked ? Yes. But what was even better was how happy he was. All he’s ever wanted was ONE SHOT with Collins. Now…he had it. But Collins wasn’t ready to give in so easy. Kit may have been all in, head over heels in love with her, but she was definitely more of a slow burner. She wasn’t in the same spot with her feelings like Kit was…and he understood that. I loved watching Kit care for Collins during her pregnancy. He was everything you would want from a partner. You could feel his love for her and their baby radiating off the page. Collins eventually let her guard down and allowed him in. Allowed him to be there for her instead of pushing him away and trying to do it all on her own. It was beautiful watching her feelings for him grow and watch how she grew to love him. Do I think that Collins and Kit would have been together had it not been for the baby ? No. BUT…not because they weren’t right for each other or there weren’t feelings there. But because Collins’ guard was up so high that she never would have allowed him to get that close to her. She wouldn’t allow herself to be vulnerable. The baby was what they needed. What SHE needed. She needed this to realise that it’s ok to depend on people. To let people in and love you. Shaw….we need a chat. Everytime you put out a new book I find myself in shambles and unable to think of anything else. Now you’ve given me a forbidden step sibling trope with hockey AND cowboys? 😩😩😩 I’m just trying to survive in this world…I can’t function when stuff like this is literally setting my kindle on fire. I’M JUST A GIRL! 😭😭😭 No but seriously….I ate this up, licked my plate and asked for more. We FINALLY get Cash and Bellamys story after getting a sneak peak at them in replay and I was kicking my feet with excitement because YES!!! I loved seeing how their story started with meeting at the age of 17 when Bellamy and Her mom move in with Cash and his dad…Bellamy is POSITIVE this is just another relationship for her mom and they will be out sooner or later. Which is perfect because she’s starting to develop feelings for the infuriatingly handsome Cash….but when things get serious and Bellamys mom marries Cash’s dad, Bellamy brings them to a complete stop. Ending things before they get any deeper and leaving Cash confused, angry and heartbroken. I loved the time skips…seeing where they were vs where they are. I loved that this slow burn was over 4 years. Seeing Bellamy fighting her feelings for Cash…her jealousy and pain at watching him get into another relationship. The pain they BOTH felt at being apart and fighting against something they both wanted and wouldn’t allow themselves to have…more so Bellamy. Cash was all in but Bellamy was too scared to cross that line………until they did. And let me tell you…the f it moment was epic…hot…spicy…all the feels and tension. These two were meant for each other. And when they finally give in it’s everything and more. Cash is filthy in the best way ways. The spice was spicing and I could not get enough. Both Cash and Bellamy had gone through so much in life at such a young age…they both were broken and guarded…I loved how they found peace in each other and were able to let their guards down and just be real with each other. The found family aspect was so perfect…L.A. Shaw has this way of writing side characters that you can’t help but fall in love with just as much as the main characters. And Maverick?? That man is my new obsession 😂 the relationship between him and Bellamy was so fun. The way they laughed and joked…it was a real bond and I loved seeing it because they both really needed and deserved it. I absolutely adore L.A. Caleb shows her that she can still hold on to her independence while still allowing him to be the one there for her. That it’s not weak to depend on another person…especially when you love them. There’s a crazy plot twist and stalker aspect to the story…I didn’t not see it coming but I absolutely LOVED the added suspense. The ending felt a tiny bit rushed…and I honestly could have read a whole other 200 pages of this book. This modern day sleeping beauty retelling with darker undertones and a gorgeous, broken hockey god?? I’m sold!! This book was so good. So heartbreaking. I think I experienced every emotion reading this book. I felt emotionally drained after. Alora is our sweet, kind hearted FMC. She’s lived her life under the control of her father. Never allowed to truly explore who she is or even wants to be. Stuck in box to follow the line her father set for her. She’s the ultimate people pleaser…afraid to cross the line so she follows along to not make waves. She has POTs which puts a strain on her ability to do things but with the help of her best friend and service dog, Sunny, she’s able to find peace and comfort. She takes a gap year off before transferring to college and when she gets there she’s met with the face of her high school bully. Malik is our dark, mysterious and broody MMC. He’s popular and a hockey player god. He keeps his walls high and locked tight. But…the truth is…he’s a broken boy. Trauma and pain from his past have turned him cold…creating a rage in him that only seems to grow as time passes. The target of his anger and wrath is Alora. Secrets , lies and deceit plague him…making her the object of his hatred. He’s been her bully since high school, making her life even more of a living hell than it already was. Beneath all the hatred and pain though, is an undeniable pull towards each other that has always been there. But the hatred between the two stops things from ever evolving. Alora isn’t the same girl Malik bullied in high school…and she refuses to be his emotional punching bag anymore…standing up for herself and shocking Malik in the process. I’ll be honest…I hated Malik in the beginning. I could not understand his hatred for someone as sweet as Alora. And I think that’s how Pru wanted it. She wanted us to feel that anger and confusion towards him…because when she finally revealed his reasons for his actions…the pain and torment behind his anger…all we could was cry for him. He went through hell. He was so broken…carrying the weight of the world…secrets and lies…all on his shoulders from a young kid. Does it excuse his behaviour? No. But you understand why he did what he did…how his trauma and pain clouded his reasoning. These two start to communicate more. Their hate making way for their real feelings. I loved seeing Alora breaking down Maliks walls. The way she loved him despite the pain he caused her and understood his darkness. Malik loved her so fiercely…he was possessive and almost obsessed with her…he learned all about her health issues…making sure to be able to take care of her and understand her needs. I loved seeing Alora blossom into the woman she was always meant to be. Standing up for herself against her father and making sure he understood that he didn’t control her life anymore. It was such an empowering moment and I was so proud of her. Now…the SPICE!!! Malik is pure filth. He channeled that hate into every encounter and I was HERE FOR IT! This man was everything I wanted and needed. Hot…unhinged…psychotic and obsessive in all the ways you want and need him to be. Alora was his and he WORSHIPED HER! There was no debating or hesitating when he finally came clean about his feelings. This book focuses on the next Weston brother, Beck. We are seeing a different spin on things…Beck isn’t in the food/hotel business like the rest of his family. He’s a professional hockey player…god on and off the ice. He’s sexy, broody…a bit of a playboy…so when his team plays and WINS in Boston, he’s shocked that he’s so taken with a fiery red head at the bar. Jolie…college sophomore, HUGE Boston hockey fan…she’s out for a drink after watching her favorite team lose…a rare occurrence for her. She’s a dedicated student and most of her time is spent studying and nothing else. But when the sexy hockey player buys her a drink, she can’t deny the sparks that fly. Beck is hooked at first glance, and proposes an idea. What I LOVED was that we get an FMC “f it” moment! Like YES! Go get your man, girl!!! She finally realised that she deserved happiness and that Beck was the one she wanted and needed. She stayed celibate the entire time they were apart because NO ONE came close or compared to Beck. This man loved her in a way that made my knees weak. He didn’t care about her being younger, he didn’t care about her job or even his job. He needed her and he was letting NOTHING get in his way. Of course we have the Weston family rallying around them both. I love how close this family is and how they love and support each other. It really was so much fun seeing them all and their hilarious banter. I thought I was prepared…I thought I was rest for the ending of this series and for Alex and Olives story but I was so wrong. I was not ready. I was not prepared and I have not recovered. It took me a few days to get through this book because it emotionally was tearing me up…which I LOVE…but is also the reason I have a hidden grey streak in my hair at 29 🙃 this is the 5th and FINAL book in the Lindon U series…and you do not have to read the others to understand this one…but we do get introduced to this couple in one of the earlier books. Olive and Alex are in a forbidden situationship. No strings. No feelings. Just fun. Perfect for two busy college students…especially when the guy you’re sleeping with is your brothers arch nemesis. Things are going great, until they aren’t. Olive admits to Alex that she’s developed feelings for him even though the plan was NO FEELINGS…Alex isn’t sure what to do and started to pull away. Alex is graduating college and getting ready to enter the NHL, so he decides it’s better to break things off especially with her revealing her feelings for him…Olive is heartbroken and shuts down all communication with him. My heart broke for Olive. She’s such a strong and confident girl. She’s plus size but has learned how to love herself and say f it to those people who mock her…she’s living life for her and on her terms. Which is why seeing how heartbroken she was over Alex broke me. She went out on a limb and shared her heart only to get shut down. But the thing is…Alex is hiding a lot…and there’s more behind their breakup than just her having feelings because he has them too. A year later, Alex is in the NHL and back home for a visit and a mission…to get his girl back…and he’s very aware that it won’t be easy. Olive is bewildered as to why this man is in her messages and wants to ignore him, but when he’s telling her he needs her, those old feelings come flooding back. Opening the flood gates for secrets revealed, real heart to heart confession and heat that will literally make you sweat. Both Alex and Olive have a lot of past trauma. Poor Alex…hearing his story and the weight he’s been carting his whole life just makes you want to hug him and never let go. There’s always such pain when kids have to essentially parent their parents…carrying the burden of being a care taker and provider when they are barely understanding how to take care of themselves. There’s a lot of mental health topics and 💀 discussed so please heed your trigger warnings. We get a lot of found family vibes and I mean A LOT. I love all the side characters and how they all rallied around both Olive and Alex. Sometimes…friends are stronger and better family than your actual family. And that’s exactly what we see here. Alex and Olive come together and let me tell you…Olive makes this man WORK as she should! I was so proud of her, and HIM! Olive truly knew her worth and wasn’t about to let Alex just walk back in without proving he knew her worth too. He did the work and got the girl and I was crying tears of joy. It was hard road back to each other And there were times where I wasn’t sure if Alex was going to make headway with Olive…especially since there was someone else very interested and very attentive when it came to her. One masked chase later and Nero has Milena in his grips and has no intention of letting her go. There’s so much to this story. Secrets, lies, betrayal, passion and depraved darkness that lies deep within them both. Nero is a man obsessed. He has zero boundaries when it comes to Milena, and he truly doesn’t care if she likes it or not. But Milena isn’t about to sit back and take it. Finally admitting that there was something between them that was real and true. This man loved her fiercely. He was never afraid to show not just her but the world. He was soft for her which I loved seeing. I loved how he brought all his walls down for her and showed her that it was ok to be vulnerable…that they could both be vulnerable with each other. Once he admitted his feelings and she admitted hers, there was no one else in the world that could take the others place. She was all he saw. Julian is our sexy, morally grey , Italian Mafia capo who believes his heart is darker than coal. Jaxon takes it all in stride. He understands Madison like no one else ever will. He’s patient…he’s kind…and he loves her unconditionally. When he finally reveals his feelings for her, it opens a flood gate of pain and uncertainty that I don’t think either of them were prepared for. Deep down, Madison has always loved Jaxon. But she never allowed herself to fully feel that for fear of losing him. And fear of not being good enough. Jaxon has been down bad for Madison since they were kids. This man has stayed celibate because for him, it was Madison or no one 🥹 my heart broke for Jaxon. He was trying so hard to be there for Madison and help her through her struggles. Help her realise that he loves her and wasn’t going anywhere. But Madison was deep in the trenches of her darkness. She pushed him away at every turn and then panicked when she thought she had pushed too far. I related way too much to that feeling. Wanting the person you love so much but feeling like you aren’t worthy of love or good things. So you push and push because in your head, leaving first is better than waiting for them to inevitably leave. It’s a struggle that looks chaotic and toxic from the outside…and at times it is. But it’s also a trauma response. I think that a lot of what people would think is sexual tension between these two was actually a push and pull of wills. A flooding of trauma response from Madison and Jaxon trying his best to be that strength she needed. The spice, when it happened was minimal but appropriate given the story line and the circumstances. This was about love and building a bond, more than physical needs. So I felt it was perfect. The wait was torture and had me stalking Jessica Lyn’s socials like a fiend…but it was well worth it because this book was everything I wanted and needed. We aren’t talking about the cliffhanger that Jessica leaves us on because….girl…why do you hate me? But also…I love the torture so keep it coming 🤭 this is the second book in the obsessed players club and you one million percent need to read it before diving into this one. We kick off right where the first book left off and you need all the back story or you will be lost. Plus the first book is just as addicting so it’s a no brainer that you should read it. We pick back up with Ethan, Jackson and Aurora… my babies…all of them. Jackson…this man needs so much love and about a million hugs. Learning about his backstory and delving deeper into the depravity that he had to endure because of his father had me actually sobbing. Like that painful can’t breathe kind of sob. I know in book one he did some pretty awful things to Aurora…and there’s no excusing that…but when you realise the extent of his trauma, you begin to understand why he did what he did and why to him it felt almost necessary. When you are so deep into your trauma and have nothing else to base your decisions or actions on, you fall back on what you know. And it was all the wrong things. Jackson deep down knew it was wrong…his love and obsessive need for Aurora had him fighting himself on what was right and what was wrong. And even when he knew he was wrong, he couldn’t help himself. It’s not surprising that he fell into substance abuse given his past. But with the help of Aurora and Ethan, he’s finally making headway to be better. Aurora…precious girl. I related to her way more than I wanted to. As someone who has struggled my whole life with diagnosed severe anxiety and abandonment issues…I could feel her pain radiating off the page. Jessica did such an amazing job really SHOWING the reader that internal struggle rather than just telling you. And I think that’s what makes Aurora such a strong character. That struggle you feel when you want to be calm…you want to trust…you want to believe…but your brain simply will not allow you to. Even when the proof is in front of you. Add in the fact that Aurora is now pregnant, her anxiety and abandonment is through the roof. She’s on edge just waiting for the bottom to fall out with Ethan and Jackson, and the chaos surrounding Jackson’s father. Ethan….daddy. He’s daddy. Fight me. This man is the glue that holds the three of them together. He’s strong and patient and gives them what they need without them having to ask for it. I loved seeing how Ethan and Jackson’s relationship evolved and grew. Honestly I didn’t know if it would ever happen. I was half expecting Ethan to steal Aurora away once they found out she was pregnant, just to keep her safe from Jackson. But he took a step back and really looked at their dynamic. And realised that without Jackson…there’s no Aurora. And without him…there’s no them. They need each other. This book had me scrambling to find all the ones that came before it add to my TBR. The minute I read GRUMPY, I was in. There’s nothing I love more than a broody grumpy man who goes all in for his woman and Atlas is exactly that !! Sutton is our FMC and I absolutely love her. Shes a single mom of a 16 year old girl and a travel nurse (which as a travel nurse myself I LOVED seeing 🥹). She’s spunky and full of life. Working hard to provide the best life she can for her girl. I absolutely love the relationship between Sutton and her daughter, Laurel. Everyone was saying it had “Gilmore Girl” vibes, and please don’t hate me….but I’ve never seen the show 🫣…but the vibes between Laurel and Sutton were perfection. I wish I had a mom like Sutton. Atlas is the ultimate grump and I love that for him…and for me 🤭 he’s a former pro football player turned high school football coach. He’s guarded and enjoys the silence of his own company. One night while he’s out of town he meets a fiery single mom…Sutton. They are staying at the same hotel and keep running into each other…which culminates in them spending one RIDICULOUSLY hot night together. When morning comes they part ways and that’s that. Or so they think. Sutton is moving to her a new sleepy town called Starlight Cove for her 6 month contract at their hospital. She moves in to her cute little cottage that they have set up for her with her daughter. And as she’s getting settled, she meets her new landlord…none other than her hot one night stand…Atlas. And getting to see the second gen characters has been such a full circle moment…there are not enough words to express how much I love this whole series and all the characters in it…yes…even the ones I wanted to strangle at times 🤭 We FINALLY get Augusts book…and let me tell you. He didn’t disappoint. There is no doubt that he is Whitts son 😍 all the possessive , broody and obsessive vibes…total alpha hole…but August definitely has a softer side deep down…he just refuses to acknowledge it. The book is set in a dual time line but it’s very easy to follow along. We meet Sinclair during her freshman year at Lancaster Prep. She’s the new girl…scrawny…plain looking…and she immediately catches the attention of the school’s senior GOD…August Lancaster. Hurtful words get thrown around and Sinclair becomes the target of Augusts bullying…making her freshman year a living hell. Fast forward 4 years and Sinclair is entering her freshman year at university…her world comes crashing down when she runs into none other than August Sinclair at a frat party. August has no clue who she is…he doesn’t recognise her…4 years has changed Sinclair from a plain Jane to a stunning woman. Sinclair is ENRAGED that after all that time spent bullying her, August doesn’t remember her. But she vows to stay as far away from him as possible. At least that’s her plan 🥲 It doesn’t take long for August to realise just who Sinclair is, and when he sees her, he is hell bent on continuing his reign of torture on her. But Sinclair is not the same little girl from high school. She’s all grown up and is done taking Augusts crap. Tensions run HIGH with these two. And I’m not going to lie…the inner monologues in Augusts head had me crying laughing 😂 this man is so down bad for Sinclair. His hate is just him trying to push his feelings for her away. He’s been in love and obsessed with her since he first met her, but he REFUSES to allow himself to feel it so instead he’s just an a hole 😂. But the way he FIGHTS with himself in his head has me on the floor in tears. This man hates feelings 😂 This book is very little to no drama…which I loved. The most drama you’ll have is the fact that Sinclair parents are trash. But we just move on from it because August is there and he’s taking care of his woman no matter what. These two navigate their feelings and past hurts in a way that’s beautiful and chaotic all at the same time. Sinclair is able to break through Augusts walls and he’s able to finally admit that he loves and adores her…always has and always will. And trust me…this man has no problem showing it to her over and over again 🥵 he’s probably even more delicious than his father and I am here for it. It must be bully season because all these bully romances have me THRIVING in my enemies to lovers era. This book was perfection. But you would be 100000% wrong In thinking this is anything like what you have read before. I PROMISE! You have never met a man like Saint Devereaux and you never will. I ate this book up in one sitting and to say I am thoroughly obsessed with Saint and this book would be a complete understatement. And not just Saint…Lennon brings new meaning to women standing up for themselves…and watching her come into her own was nothing short of inspiring. Lennon is the PERFECT daughter. From an affluent family in New Orleans society, her life has been carefully mapped out for her by her father (we hate him btw). She’s even the golden child of the universities purity club. But Lennon hits her breaking point when her father insists she get back together with her cheating ex bf in order to keep up appearances and form a strong family alliance. Lennon would rather dive into the gator infested bayou than do that. So she decides to turn to the one person she knows who can help. Saint is no saint. Literally…the man is pure sin on legs and he knows it. The universities resident hockey bad boy. His bed has seen more action than Mardi Gras and honestly…good for him. He’s got the skills and the ladies love him. All the ladies except for one…Lennon. And trust me…he’s not a fan of hers either. He’s got a massive grudge against her and her family for things that have torn his own family apart. So when Lennon approaches him with a fake dating arrangement to get her father to understand he can’t control her life anymore, he seizes the opportunity. Seeing it as his in to get revenge on her father for what he’s done to his family. But we all know how things like this go. Who will break first. Who will be the first to admit that this might not be as fake as they planned. Throughout the book we see Lennon go toe to toe with Saint. She may be an innocent virgin but she’s not falling for his playboy ways so easily. And that just makes Saint want her more. It’s definitely a slow burn. But it’s full of teasing and tension that will have you gasping for air. When they finally do give in though ?? 🥵🥵 the athletic tape? The JEWELLERY?? The penalty box?? I blushed getting into an elevator earlier just thinking about this book 🤭🤭 It’s not just smut and heat though. Maren dives deep into Saints back story and you truly get to see that this guy has been carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders since he was 14. The complexities of how the rich and privileged take advantage of those who have less and don’t care about the fallout or how it affects not just them but their families. There’s a lot of trauma to unpack for Saint…and you can’t help but feel your heart break for him and what he’s had to go through. You understand why he is the way he is and realise he’s truly just a broken boy trying to protect himself from any further pain and hurt. Lennon has had it rough too but in a different way. Her life being controlled and never having the opportunity to discover who she is and what SHE truly wants. She’s a captive in her own home…her own family…all under the guise of love and protection. But really she’s just a pawn in her father’s game of power.
