‼️ The entire #Gaza strip is at risk of FAMINE. The latest food security analysis is a stark warning: we are in a race against time to prevent a catastrophe. Behind the numbers are families — mothers desperately searching for their next meal.
❄️ This winter, when hunger bites harder in #Afghanistan, 15 million people, one third of the population, are facing severe hunger and in urgent need of humanitarian assistance to survive. WFP is often the last lifeline for women struggling to afford basic nutritious food for their children, while debilitating restrictions push them further to the fringes of society. However, WFP is only able to support 6 million of the most vulnerable people. WFP’s support in Afghanistan is critical.
WFP has run out of food in #Gaza. Today, WFP delivered its last remaining food stocks to hot meals kitchens in the Gaza Strip. These kitchens are expected to fully run out of food in the coming days. For more than seven weeks, no humanitarian or commercial supplies have entered Gaza. This is the longest border closure Gaza has ever faced — pushing already fragile markets and food systems to collapse. The situation is at breaking point. Two million people inside Gaza rely entirely on food aid to survive. WFP and partners have more than 116,000 metric tons of food assistance – enough to feed one million people for up to four months – positioned at aid corridors, ready to be brought into Gaza as soon as borders reopen. We need food to reach Gaza. We need access — now.

Families in #Gaza do not know where their next meal will come from. Food stocks are running out. 📢 WFP urges all parties to prioritize the needs of civilians, protect humanitarian workers and allow aid to enter Gaza immediately.
A handful of bakeries in #Gaza are baking bread again after receiving limited supplies overnight. This is a critical first step — but assistance must be scaled up. More essential food is needed to push back the risk of famine. Bread alone is not enough for people to survive.
