The council has announced that from June 5th the Ha'penny Bridge will now cost €1 to cross. The historic bridge, which originally charged a halfpenny toll when it opened in 1816, will now see the reintroduction of the fee due to rising restoration and maintenance costs of the famous bridge. The €1 charge will be collected via contactless payment terminals installed at both entrances. The Ha'penny Bridge is one of the earliest cast-iron structures of its kind. #dublin #ireland #irish #europe
