The International Criminal Court (ICC) released the pre-trial chamber I judges who issued the warrant of arrest against former president Rodrigo Duterte. Romanian judge Iulia Antoanella Motoc will lead the investigation as the presiding judge. Joining her are judges Reine Adélaïde Sophie Alapini-Gansou and María del Socorro Flores Liera. Duterte, who is turning 80 on March 28, 2025, could become the first Asian former head of state to go on trial at the ICC. The Embassy of Japan in the Philippines announced on Wednesday the opening of the Japan Visa Application Centre (JVAC) which will begin accepting and processing visa applications on April 7, 2025. The center managed by VFS Service Philippines Inc. has five locations nationwide including Parañaque City, Makati City, Quezon City, Cebu City, and Davao City where Filipinos can apply. An online appointment system was also launched on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. The visa processing will involve both a visa fee and a center usage fee of P520, although costs may differ depending on nationality and application type. Accredited agencies will no longer be accepting visa applications after April 6, 2025. From April 7, 2025 onwards, all submissions must go through the JVAC, but those who applied through accredited agencies before the cutoff will still collect their passports from the same agencies. Waiting for us to come home from school. Kapag alam niya po na uuwi ako for the weekend, she would wait for my arrival in front of their house,” she told The Philippine STAR. In the same year, Lola Nieves passed away due to heart disease at the age of 75. Isabel recalled how Lola Nieves supported them in their school competitions and would always be the first person to celebrate their wins. “Ma co-consider ko po na favorite activities namin together are those mundane things na we do everyday nung buhay pa siya. Bago po matulog lagi po siya may kwento samin na mga apo niya kung ano buhay nila before, or any random stories about sa day or life niya,” she said. Malacañang confirmed on Tuesday the arrest of former president Rodrigo Duterte, after the INTERPOL Manila received the official copy of the warrant of arrest from the International Criminal Court (ICC). The warrant was served at 9:20 AM as he arrived in Manila from Hong Kong and he is currently under police custody. “Sa kanyang pagdating, inihain ng Prosecutor General ang ICC notification para sa isang arrest warrant sa dating Pangulo para sa krimen laban sa sangkatauhan,” the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said in a statement.
